A Time & Place

With the two year anniversary of our marriage coming up, I decided it would be a good time to share some of my favorite pictures from our little backyard wedding.  We were married on May 7th, 2010, by my cousin Joel, in David's parent's back yard. We had a potluck/BBQ style reception, where David's dad smoked up some turkey, ham, and a beef shoulder, and everyone else made all kinds of salads. I proudly made my own two tier margarita cheesecake which looked and tasted perfect. It was a great day!

I can hardly believe it's been almost two years, but at the same time I feel as if David and I have always been together. He's my other half (cliché sounding I know, but really). It's been a crazy, busy, beautiful two years. We got pregnant right away, had a stint as an army family in which David missed Lorelei's birth, lived with parents, moved to Washington, and are now looking into fulfilling our shared dream of owning a Volkswagen bus. I can't wait to see what our third year of marriage brings us!

A Little Reminder

Today I came across these pictures from last week of me and the little siren. I couldn't stop smiling looking at them. I decided to put them somewhere I look everyday to remind me when she's pushing all my buttons, that it isn't always hard, and she won't always be that way. I need to sit back and learn to relish everything she does. Someday it will all make funny stories that she and her kids will love to hear. Or I'll think back on the bad she does now when she's an ornery teenager and think, "Wow it was so easy when..." We probably all get so caught up in our annoyance or anger in the moment and can't think about the big picture. Here's to enjoying our babies, every minute. :)

My Favorite Dress

I'll leave you with little more than two pictures, and the knowledge that I find this to be the cutest little dress I ever did see!

A Good Weekend

This was a good weekend for my little family.  Weekends for us are usually spent trying to catch up on errands and chores.  Not this one!  We carefully managed our time to get all of the not-so-fun stuff out of the way so that we could do something enjoyable.  Saturday we hopped on our vintage Schwinns and pedaled our way to downtown Renton to hit up a coffee shop.  We tried bubble tea for the first time, and I liked it as an occasional type treat.

On Sunday we took a mini road trip to Longview, WA to meet my uncle at an in home studio to lay down some harmonies for him.  The drive over there was gorgeous, though I didn't really get any pictures because I have a horrible camera for in-the-car pictures. We drove through Olympia, seeing the state's capitol. And lots of pretty reservation land. I also saw Mt. St. Helens for the first time.  It's crazy the destruction that can come from something so beautiful. Anyways, here are some of the pictures I did snap over the last few days. :)
